Storage Near Cameron University

If you're a student, staff member, or faculty at Cameron University, both of our storage locations are a short drive from campus. Pick the one that fits what you're storing and the size you actually need.

Cameron sits on the south side of Lawton, which puts both of our locations within easy reach. Most Cameron students use storage for the same handful of reasons — moving in and out of off-campus housing, going home for the summer, swapping seasonal clothes, or holding furniture between apartments. Whatever the situation, the lease is month-to-month and you can set everything up online.

Which location works best

37th Street — closer for most Cameron students

Our 37th Street property sits on the south side of Lawton, which is the closer drive for most students living near campus or in south-side apartments. Drive-up units make loading and unloading easy on move-out and move-in days.

Cache Road — climate-controlled option

If you're storing electronics, a mattress, or anything that doesn't love Oklahoma summers, Cache Road on the north side has climate-controlled units. Worth the slightly longer drive for items that need temperature stability.

Why students use storage

  • Summer break. Going home for the summer? A small unit holds your dorm or apartment stuff for the three-month gap instead of paying rent on an empty apartment.
  • Off-campus apartment turnover. Old lease ends before the new one starts. A month or two of storage bridges the gap.
  • Study abroad. A semester or year overseas — small unit holds everything stateside.
  • Sharing a place with a roommate. Your furniture, their furniture, and only one couch fits. The other goes to storage.
  • Military student spouses or dependents. Lots of Cameron students are connected to Fort Sill in some way. PCS schedules and storage are familiar territory for us.

What fits in a small unit

A 5×5 unit is small but stacks well. For a typical student situation:

  • Mattress (twin or full) stored on edge or flat depending on space
  • Mini fridge and microwave
  • Desk and chair or small dresser
  • A few boxes of clothes, books, and personal items
  • TV or monitor in original packaging
  • Bedding and pillows in a sealed tote

For a full apartment's worth of stuff, step up to a 5×10 or 10×10.

Setting it up online

One thing that matters for students especially — the whole rental can happen online. Sign the lease from your dorm, set up autopay with a debit card, get the gate code emailed. No in-person paperwork. When you head home for the summer, you load up, lock the unit, and you're done. Comes back in August? You unload, give notice for the next month, close it out.

Our pick

5×5 climate-controlled at Cache Road

The right size for one student's dorm or studio apartment worth of stuff. Climate-controlled matters more for summer storage in Oklahoma — your mattress and electronics will thank you. For a bigger apartment or shared belongings, go to a 5×10 or 10×10. Drive-up at 37th Street works fine if climate isn't a concern.

Common questions

Which location is closer to Cameron?

Cache Road on the north side and 37th Street on the south side are both short drives from Cameron's campus. 37th Street is slightly closer for most students living south of campus.

What's the smallest unit available?

A 5×5 is our smallest. It holds a dorm room's contents comfortably — boxes, bedding, mini fridge, microwave, a small set of furniture. Perfect for the summer-home window.

Can I get the unit for just a few months?

Yes. The lease is month-to-month. Rent for the summer, give notice when classes start, close it out. No penalty for short stays.

Do I need a parent on the lease?

If you're 18 or older, you can sign your own lease. Many students do exactly that — sign up online, set up autopay from a debit card, get the gate code.
