Secure Self Storage in Lawton, OK

Fenced and gated, with your own gate code and cameras that record the property. The gate closes at 8pm on purpose. Here is why, what we do, and what no storage facility can promise.

  • A fenced property and a gated entrance, at both locations
  • Your own gate code, never a shared one
  • Cameras that record the property
  • Gate open 8am to 8pm, after-hours access by approval

We will be straight with you: no facility can promise nothing will ever happen. This page shows exactly what we do.

Why the gate closes at 8pm

The gate closes at 8pm. On purpose.

Some facilities advertise 24-hour access. We used to offer round-the-clock access too, and we ended it. When the gate was open overnight, the people coming and going in the middle of the night were the ones who ended up at risk. We decided that was not a trade worth making.

So the gate is open 8am to 8pm every day, and that is a security feature, not a limitation. Fewer hours with the gate open means fewer hours anyone can come and go.

If you truly need to get in at 2am on a regular basis, we are not the right facility, and we would rather tell you that up front. If 8 to 8 works for you, you get a quieter, more secure property.

Need to get in after 8pm?

Extended access is by approval only. Call or text in advance, tell us what you need and when, and we will see what we can do.

The layers

Six layers between your things and the street

Security is a stack of barriers, not one feature. Here is each layer we run at both Lawton locations.

Fenced property

Fencing around the property and a gate at the entrance. Only tenants with an access code come in.

Your own gate code

A personal code, not a shared one. It is texted to you when you move in, usually within a minute.

Gate open 8am to 8pm

The gate closes at 8pm to keep the property secure overnight. Fewer open hours means fewer hours anyone can come and go.

Cameras that record

Security cameras record the property. See the honest note below about what that does and does not mean.

A lock on your unit

A free premium security lock comes with your unit, and you keep it when you leave.

Renters we know

Every renter uploads a driver’s license and e-signs a lease when they rent.

The honest version

What security can and cannot do

Almost every facility says it is secure. Very few say what that means. Here is our plain version.

What we do

The layers above

Every one of them, at both locations.

  • Fence and gate
  • A personal code for every renter
  • Cameras that record the property
  • A lock on every unit
  • Protection on every rental
What we do not do

Things we will not pretend

Better you hear it from us.

  • Watch the cameras live. They record. Nobody is watching the screens, and like any equipment they can fail.
  • Promise nothing will ever happen. No facility can.
  • Offer round-the-clock access. See above.
What you can do

Your part

Small habits that matter.

  • Lock your unit on every visit
  • Keep your gate code to yourself
  • Photograph what you store and keep a list
  • Keep your protection current
  • Tell us right away about anything that looks wrong

If something ever happens, call us right away at (580) 265-5708 and report it to the Lawton Police Department.

Security questions

Straight answers about storage security

Is Lawton Self Storage secure?
Both locations are fenced with a gated entrance, every renter gets a personal gate code, the gate is open 8am to 8pm, cameras record the property, and every unit comes with a free premium lock. No storage facility can promise that nothing will ever happen, which is why protection is required on every rental.
Do you have 24-hour access?
No, on purpose. The gate is open 8am to 8pm every day, and access outside those hours is by approval only. If you need to get in at 3am on a regular basis, we are not the right facility. If 8 to 8 works for you, you get a quieter, more secure property. Here is why we made that call.
Why does the gate close at 8pm?
We used to offer round-the-clock access and ended it. When the gate was open overnight, the people coming and going in the middle of the night were the ones who ended up at risk, and we decided that was not a trade worth making. Fewer hours with the gate open means fewer hours anyone can come and go.
Can I get in after hours?
Extended access is by approval only. Call or text (580) 265-5708 in advance, tell us what you need and when, and we will see what we can do.
Do you have security cameras?
Yes. Cameras record the property at both locations.
Does anyone watch the cameras live?
Our cameras record. We do not have anyone watching them live, and like any equipment, cameras can fail or miss things. That is why we do not lean on them alone: there is a fence, a gate, personal codes, a lock on every unit, and protection on every rental.
Does everyone get their own gate code?
Yes. Your code is yours alone, never shared, and it is texted to you when you move in, usually within a minute.
How do you know who is renting?
Every renter uploads a driver’s license and e-signs a lease when they rent.
Do I need my own lock?
No. A free premium security lock comes with your unit, and you keep it when you leave.
What if something is stolen or damaged?
Call us right away at (580) 265-5708 and report it to the Lawton Police Department. Protection is required on every rental, so your belongings are covered by your own policy or ours, subject to that policy’s terms.
Is my vehicle secure in your parking lot?
The 37th Street lot is fenced and gated, entry takes a personal gate code, and cameras record the property. Outdoor parking is still outdoor parking, so keep your own comprehensive coverage on the vehicle. See the vehicle storage page.
Is protection required, and how much is it?
Yes, protection is required for every rental, but you can bring your own. Send us a photo or copy of your policy, as long as it covers self storage. If you do not have coverage, ours starts at $9.00 a month. Rates and fees are on the pricing page.
What can I do to keep my things secure?
Use the lock we give you and lock it every visit. Keep your gate code to yourself. Take photos of what you store and keep a simple list. Keep your protection current. And tell us right away about anything that looks wrong.

Store it behind a fence and a gate.

Pick your size, sign on your phone, and get your own gate code by text, usually within a minute.
