Before you park it

A little prep now saves a lot later

  • Tires. Inflate to spec, add UV covers on RVs and trailers, and chock the wheels.
  • Battery. Charge it, then disconnect it or use a tender on your visits. There is no power at the spaces.
  • Fuel. Add stabilizer and run the engine so it circulates.
  • Cover. Use a fitted, breathable cover. Sealed plastic tarps trap moisture.
  • Clean and clear it out. Wash and dry it first, and take food and valuables home.
  • Look in monthly. Start it, check the tires, and look for leaks or pests.

Keeping it at home?

Check Lawton’s 24-foot line first

A trailer carrying a boat counts as a recreational vehicle under the city code. Go over any one of these three numbers and the rules for a front driveway get strict.

Vehicle storage questions

Straight answers about parking in Lawton

What kinds of vehicles can I park at Lawton Self Storage?
Cars, trucks and SUVs, motorcycles and ATVs, boats and jet skis on trailers, RVs, motorhomes, travel trailers, fifth wheels, and utility, cargo, car-hauler and commercial trailers. Choose the space by total length, hitch included. Not sure it fits? Call or text (580) 265-5708 with the make and model.
How much does vehicle storage cost in Lawton?
Outdoor parking starts at $49 a month, depending on the size of the space (10×20, 10×30 or 10×40). The live list on this page shows the exact rate and how many spaces are open. Every rental is month-to-month with a $0 admin fee, and your rate is locked for 24 months with AutoPay.
What size space do I need?
Measure bumper to bumper, hitch or trailer tongue included, then add 2 to 3 feet to pull in and out. A 10×20 holds vehicles up to 20 ft, a 10×30 up to 30 ft, and a 10×40 up to 40 ft. Between sizes? Go one up. The size checker at the top of this page does the math for you.
Can I park a car, truck or SUV here?
Yes. Cars, trucks and SUVs fit in a 10×20 space. Parking is outdoors, so a car cover helps on a long stay, and a battery tender is useful because the spaces have no power hookups.
Is the parking covered or indoors?
No. All vehicle parking at 37th Street is outdoors on a gravel surface and is not enclosed. Our Cache Road location has climate-controlled indoor units, but those are for household goods and business items, not vehicles.
Is my vehicle secure here?
The property is fenced and gated, entry takes a personal gate code that is yours alone, and cameras record the property around the clock. Outdoor parking is still outdoor parking, so keep your own comprehensive coverage on the vehicle.
What are the gate hours?
Gate access is 8am to 8pm every day, using your own personal gate code. The gate closes at 8pm to keep the property secure overnight, and cameras keep recording after it closes. Need access outside those hours for a specific reason? Call (580) 265-5708 and we will see what we can do.
Is insurance or tenant protection required?
Tenant protection is required for all renters, parking included. Your auto, RV or boat policy may already cover a vehicle parked off-site, so send proof within 30 days of move-in. If we do not receive proof, the minimum protection plan is applied to your account.
Will my rate go up after I move in?
No. Your rate is written into your rental agreement and locked for 24 months from your move-in date. AutoPay and an account in good standing are required to keep the lock. If a payment fails or the account goes past due, the locked rate becomes subject to change under the terms of your rental agreement.
Am I signing a long-term contract?
No. Every lease is month-to-month. You can move out any time with 14 days’ notice. The 24-month price lock protects your rate, it does not lock you into staying.
Can I move in the same day?
Yes. Reserve online, upload your driver’s license, sign your lease on your phone, and set up AutoPay. Your personal gate code is texted to you, usually within a minute.
Is vehicle parking at both locations?
No. Vehicle parking is only at 37th Street, 2517 SW 37th St. Our Cache Road location has climate-controlled and drive-up units for household items and business inventory, but no vehicle parking.
Can I keep my RV, boat or trailer at home instead?
Sometimes. Lawton draws the line at 8½ feet wide, 24 feet long or 11 feet tall. Over any one, an RV, or a boat on a trailer, can sit in a front driveway only 5 days in any 10-day period. Behind a solid fence at least 5 feet tall in a side or rear yard, any size is allowed. See the full rules and a checker for your rig.
Can I park a vehicle here while I am deployed or moving?
Yes. Parking is month-to-month with 14 days’ notice, so it works for a deployment or a PCS move. If you are active duty, our military storage page covers the terms that apply to you.
